President Julius Maada Bio has used the 7th AU-EU Summit in Luanda to call for a renewed and balanced partnership between Africa and Europe, emphasizing that mutual respect must guide future cooperation.
Speaking at the high-level gathering, he reaffirmed Sierra Leone’s commitment to strengthening governance, promoting peace, and supporting multilateral action during what he described as a defining moment for Africa and the global community.
President Bio noted that Sierra Leone is uniquely positioned to champion peace and stability as he currently serves as Chairman of ECOWAS and President of the UN Security Council for the month of November.
He said Africa and Europe can collectively overcome regional instability and unlock shared progress by deepening collaboration rooted in fairness, responsibility, and partnership.
