Community-led education initiatives supported by ActionAid, UNICEF, and WAHD are helping girls in Bombali District return to school.
At a ceremony in Makumpbana, 74 out-of-school girls aged 10–19 received uniforms, books, bags, and sanitary items valued at NLe 120,000, aimed at ensuring their re-enrolment.
Education officials praised the initiative, noting that over 4,000 children remain out of school in Bombali. Beneficiaries shared emotional testimonies, describing renewed hope and dignity through education.
