The Anti-Corruption Commission has trained staff of the National Minerals Agency in Kono on workplace ethics as part of efforts to prevent corruption in the mining sector.
Through presentations and discussions, ACC officials highlighted offences common in compliance work, including:
- Possession of unexplained wealth
- Offering and soliciting bribes
- Peddling influence
- Misappropriation of funds
ACC officials also stressed the importance of transparency, integrity committees, and compliance with legal reporting requirements.
The training ended with a question-and-answer session and a call for stronger institutional accountability.
