The Adonis Abboud Trust Fund has awarded scholarships to 12 outstanding students from nine universities across Sierra Leone in recognition of academic excellence.
Each awardee received Le 3,000 and a trophy. Beneficiaries included students from IPAM, Njala University, Fourah Bay College, Ernest Bai Koroma University of Science and Technology, Milton Margai Technical University, and COMAHS.
One recipient, Samuel Kamara, an orphan who combined his studies with gold mining, recorded a GPA of 4.88. Trust Fund founder Dr Adonis Abboud encouraged parents to keep children in school and described education as the foundation for national progress.
