The Tripartite Steering Committee Secretariat, with support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), has launched a nationwide sensitization campaign to explain the newly amended electoral laws based on the Cross-Party Committee recommendations.

District-level engagements are now underway, bringing together political parties, traditional leaders, civil society organizations, women’s networks, youth groups, and persons with disabilities. The goal is to deepen public awareness, promote transparency, and rebuild trust in the electoral process.

Officials say the outreach is essential to ensuring that citizens across all districts fully understand the reforms and their impact on future elections. Community leaders have welcomed the initiative, describing it as a much-needed step in strengthening democratic participation.

UNDP reaffirmed its commitment to supporting inclusive governance and ensuring that the electoral amendments are clearly communicated and accessible to everyone.
