The Ministry of Defence and the RSLAF has held a solemn inter-faith remembrance service in Freetown to honour the 18 security officers killed during the failed November 26, 2023 coup attempt.

Family members, ministers, and senior military officers attended the event.

Colonel Victor Momoh said the officers “paid the ultimate price” to defend democracy.

Speakers praised the victims’ patriotism but relatives called for more government support, noting that many have been neglected since the incident.

The Foreign Minister, Timothy Musa Kabba, conveyed condolences from the President and urged the nation never to forget those who sacrificed their lives for peace.
